Thank you to everyone who joined us for the FEAST of St. Lawrence this year! Check out some of the event highlights below.
It’s no secret that Old Town Toronto is a food destination. In fact, it’s been that way since the 1800s! And what better way to celebrate our favourite port of call for food lovers all over than by putting on one of our favourite events, the Feast of St. Lawrence!
Happening on Friday August 12-13 and presented by us here at the Old Town Toronto BIA, Feast is a fantastic two-day celebration of the many amazing foods to be had in Old Town Toronto. With over 150 vendors that range from restaurants to bistros, there is an entire world of fantastic cuisine to discover! The festival also includes street performers, programming for children such as face painting, an illusionist, and cupcake decorating, and live musical performances by Angela Saini, FreePlay, Malia Love, and Apryll Aileen!
However, to kick things off on the evening of August 12th we’ll be doing something a little different by bringing you a picnic on Market Street! With special reserved tables on Market Street, you can enjoy a delicious, scrumptious, and sumptuous 5-course picnic dinner prepared by some of the best restaurants to be found in Old Town Toronto! From vegan spring rolls from C’est What and summer corn gazpacho from HOTHOUSE to Korean-style Miami-cut short ribs with in-house kimchi from CC Lounge & Whisky Bar and a dessert that’s well worth the surprise, you’ll be in for one fantastic experience dining al fresco next to historic St. Lawrence Market! And because all good food needs to go well with a good drink, each picnic will include four tickets for wine from Niagara’s Somewhereness Vineyards OR a soothing whisky cocktail from the CC Lounge.
Tickets are available now, so pick them up in advance while you still can! A portion of the proceeds will go to Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food rescue organization that works with thousands of food businesses from across the supply chain to reduce the amount of edible food going to waste. This model helps redirect surplus food to thousands of charities and non-profits across Canada. There is also a ticket sale for a 50/50 draw to raise funds for Ukrainian refugees.
The menu for the picnic can be seen below. We hope to see you there! Happy eating!
