I Heart Market Street Music Series presents Benjamin Barrile

I Heart Market Street, Old Town Toronto’s free urban park, welcomes Benjamin Barrile to our street stage, located on Market Street, just north of The Esplanade. (All performances are subject to cancellation due to poor weather conditions. Thank you for your understanding.)

Artist Bio: Rooted in flamenco, guitarist Benjamin Barrile prefers to express emotion through his instrument. A remarkable soloist and composer, his dynamic compositions honour the Spanish Roma tradition with a contemporary flair. In 2000, he traveled to Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, where he studied under many great flamenco maestros, profoundly shaping his artistry. Benjamin has recorded for various artists, works as a producer, and is a resident guitarist at the Esmeralda Enrique Spanish Dance Company and Compañia Carmen Romero. Benjamin’s debut album, ‘Esperando el Alba’ (‘Waiting for Dawn’), reflects upon his long and arduous battle with musician’s focal dystonia, an all-too-often career-ending neurological condition for many musicians.
