Well, the weather took its dear sweet time, but we’re finally getting some brighter days and we’re feeling the urge to go out and explore. And what better place to seek out adventure than our very own Old Town Toronto and its vast selection of businesses to suit literally any possible need?

We truly are blessed to have such a vibrant community of stores, restaurants, cafes, bars, and boutiques that call OTT home and we can’t help but celebrate whenever a new addition to our little piece of the city arrives to bring their own unique style and speciality to our streets!

So with that, here is another list of some new and notable businesses to watch out for this Spring. From good eats, and spa treatments to fashionable showstoppers and top-shelf live music, these Old Town spots are sure to please.

Mr. Cavaliere – mrcavaliere.com

Offering style consultations and fashion assessments along with either a made to order service that makes any alterations on request or a more personal made to measure service that results in a completely custom suit that stands the test of time, Mr. Cavaliere is in the business of creating a completely unique and personal experience with your comfort and style in mind. The Ten Spot – 351 King St E unit 103a, thetenspot.com/king-street-east

We’ve long been fans of The Ten Spot and when they opened their King Street East location during the peak of the early pandemic, we were so excited to finally have this quality beauty bar destination right in our neighbourhood! With a jam-packed service menu that puts your busy schedule in mind while not skimping on the quality care, you can book a mani/pedi, facial, brow tint, thread, wax, laser, and spa treatments that include a lash lift and brow lam! You can go solo or with a group of your besties to make it a party! And with summer coming up, they offer waxing services that are second to none, including their signature Brazilian wax “The Brazilly”.

Bar Cathedral – 54 The Esplanade, barcathedral.ca

This little spot on the Esplanade originally used to be an overflow bar attached to the Old Spaghetti Factory for when the restaurant had busy nights, but in 2010 it turned into a wonderful music venue called the Amsterdam Bicycle Club. Known for its open mic nights, it was a great casual place to stop by. However when the pandemic hit the ABC (oh no, I just got that) was closed for good and the fate of live music in Toronto continued to be in question.

Thankfully though, as time passed and businesses began to open their doors once again, the space reopened as Bar Cathedral and underwent renovations to be the ultimate church of live music of the Esplanade. They even got a massive professional tech upgrade to ensure that the music being played is sounding clean and incredible! So stop by for open mic, comedy nights, or special musical guests for a night to remember!

GoodGood – 140A The Esplanade, goodgood.co

Back in February The Esplanade got a little more…good. Doubly so, in fact!

GoodGood is a wonderful new sit-in cafe, wine bar, and one-stop-shop filled with delicious eats, scrumptious sweets, and divine sips, all with a delivery service that will see your order arrive in an hour!

You can grab a quick coffee to go, pick up some Comeback Snacks PB & J popcorn or Electric Jerky plant-based jerky for your daily munching needs, and even take advantage of a regular rotation of perks and promotions! In fact, until the end of March any purchase from their store comes with a free can of Daydream sparkling water and a bottle of Burlington-based Sung’s Korean Hot Sauce!

This list is by no means exhaustive, as new shops and services are constantly cropping up in Old Town. Check out our directory and discover HUNDREDS (yup, hundreds) of awesome local businesses that have you covered from All-Natural Anti-Persperent to Zodiac Sign Necklaces.
