We have officially shovelled our way out of January (photographic evidence below) and right into February, which is not looking too shabby. Valentine’s Day is fun and Family Day is a great reminder to spend time with your family, be they biological or chosen. Here in Old Town Toronto we are excited to spend the month finding ways to be cosy, happy and warm as the bustle of the city motors on… (we hope with a few less plows needed!)
Speaking of cosy, we recently discovered the best stay in bed all day PJs. They are covered in sloths and if a sloth does not make you want to have a slow paced day, what will? That said, you can’t stay in bed EVERY day (even if it is an extra comfy sofa bed… more on those below) so when you are out and about, to stay warm, be sure to visit some of our local coffee and bubble tea shops with teas, coffees, hot chocolates, treats and so much more. If, however, you are not all about the hot drinks then we have the perfect juice shop, right in St Lawrence Market. Those veggie smoothies are looking grand and so is the deal on them this month!
Tired of your bland walls at home? Then update your interiors with new furnishings and wall decor. No we are not talking about photos of your dog, although they are cute. Wallpaper featuring one of the hottest trends for walls (wood) is sure to help your space pull a one eighty.
Speaking of pulling a one eighty… want to know the secret to kicking up the spice level (food wise) and taking things in a whole new direction? Chili oil. We found the perfect jar of it and while it is great with Thai food, please don’t judge us if we add a few drops atop the locally made frozen pizza we are about to pull out of the oven, even if we do so while wearing a white gown we scored at a local sample sale. (Hey, the sloth PJs were in the wash!)
Oh gosh. We have been blabbering on quite a bit and we have not even mentioned the massages, physio or our new eye glass frames (which we keep receiving compliments on in every Zoom meeting we join). Good thing it is all below in this month’s edition of Where To Support Local, which by they way is perfect for reading while eating dessert pizza from an Instagram worthy vending machine.
