The new pavilion in St James Park was recently dedicated as The Michael Comstock Pavilion.

Michael Comstock was a great driving force within the St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood, Old Town Toronto and the entire BIA community in Toronto. One of the founding fathers of the Old Town Toronto BIA, he was instrumental in making great strides for the development of the area through, amongst other things, streetscaping, tourism and heritage preservation and celebration.

Over his lifetime he volunteered as a Board Member and Chair of the BIA , President of Old Town Toronto Promotional Alliance, and President of TABIA (Toronto Association of BIAs).

Michael received an award for service to the community and the St. Lawrence Market and is considered one of the godfathers of the area’s renaissance. Simply put, he helped shape and transform our community from its industrious past, into the community and destination it is today.

Michael’s wife, Sharon, continues to call Old Town Toronto home and visits the park often on her daily outings.
